ACANA Regionals Grasslands for Cats
Kentucky is home to lush grasslands, where farms and ranches benefit from long summers and fertile soils. Reflecting our Kentucky home, ACANA Grasslands features a richly nourishing variety of fresh local lamb, free-run duck, whole eggs and freshwater fish.
Brimming with goodness and taste, our meats are delivered to our kitchens FRESH or RAW daily, in WholePrey™ ratios to guarantee locked-in nutrients. ACANA Grasslands rich inclusions of meat, fish and game mirror your cat’s evolutionary diet and promote peak health without long lists of synthetic supplements and additives.
Prepared in our Kentucky DogStar® kitchens from America’s best and freshest ingredients, ACANA Grasslands is guaranteed to keep your cat healthy, happy and strong.
Domestic cats are built like their ancestors and we believe they should eat like them too. How do you know if your cat’s food is Biologically Appropriate™? It’s simple, just answer our Biologically Appropriate™ ‘three meat questions’.

How much meat?Entirely free of plant protein concentrates, ACANA Grasslands is loaded with 75% meat, game and fish — more than twice as much as most pet specialty cat foods. Plus, all our meat is deemed fit for human consumption when it arrives at our kitchen.
How much fresh meat?Half of the meat, game and fish in ACANA Grasslands is FRESH or RAW, supplying essential nutrients in their most nourishing form. Fresh means never frozen, so refrigeration is the only way we preserve our fresh meats while our raw meats are flash-frozen at the source to lock in goodness. The other half is dried or oils to provide a strong and natural source of richly nourishing animal protein and fat.
How many meats?ACANA Grasslands features 5 fresh meats in WholePrey™ ratios that include meat, organs and cartilage to supply nutrients naturally and completely.

Grass-fed Kentucky Lamb – meat, tripe, liver and cartilage, fresh from local Kentucky farms.
Free-run Muscovy Duck– fresh meat, organs, cartilage and liver from local Kentucky farms.
Nest-laid eggs – fresh and whole from local Kentucky farms.
Rainbow trout– fresh or raw from Idaho’s Snake River aquifers.
Free-run quail – fresh from South Carolina farms.

Limited supplements added:In Mother Nature’s kitchen there are no synthetic supplements, and wildcats derive all of their nutritional needs by consuming whole prey animals. Muscle meat provides protein; liver, kidney and tripe supply vitamins and minerals; while bones and cartilage deliver calcium and phosphorus.ACANA WholePrey™ foods incorporate meats, organs and cartilage in ratios that mirror Mother Nature, delivering nutrients naturally. So you won’t find long lists of synthetic supplements — only choline, zinc and copper are added.
